Most of the answers to your questions are on the EzPz site -- if not, you should email them or use their pre-sales forum which is superb. But yes, support materials and knowledgebase are much improved from 6 months ago.

Regarding support -- it's been excellent. Most stuff is replied to within 15-30 mins, and I've never had to wait more than an hour for a resolution to a problem, even sending requests through very late at night. I'm convinced that Dan (the main EzPz guy) never sleeps! You can't get much better service than that :-) I've referred several people to EzPz since I switched over; and I NEVER give recommendations to other people unless I think the service is really quite exceptional. I am a difficult person to please, but EzPz managed to do so.

Wow, that's all a bit gushing! I should probably be on commission :-)

I have been looking at webhost providers to set up my sites. I have been looking at Memset because of there green policy.

Also looking at EZPZ. Can you tell me what support is like, now that you been with them for atleast 6 months. Also, is it an all-in-one sign in for resellers?

and there green policy?

is the support being stepped up?

cheers,

I started out with a 128, which quickly proved not enough for the December traffic spike 24ways brings. I then upgraded to something close to a 256 spec miniserver, which did fine for 20,000 visitors or so each day.

The server's now a 512, as it's now running allinthehead.com and some other highish traffic sites as well.

Hi Drew, thanks for your comment. And thanks for 24 ways too -- I've picked up loads of good web dev tips from there over the years. :-)

Regarding the Miniserver, I must admit, I never really understood why it wasn't powerful enough. Memset consistently said that the 128MB version didn't have enough memory to run Apache, the control panel software *and* the websites as well. Seems kind of pointless to offer a service that isn't powerful enough!? I know others who run similar sites to me on the 256MB VPS and have had no problems.

Out of interest, which spec Miniserver is 24ways on?

Glad to hear you found a solution that works for you. That's what counts.

Was a bit surprised to hear of the trouble you were having with the Memset miniserver, though. I run http://24ways.org on a basic miniserver without any trouble. On busy days we get about 40,000 uniques and the server doesn't even flinch.

That's using Textpattern, rather than WordPress. I know WP isn't the best written PHP application out there, but it's not that bad.

I wrote up some of the simple performance steps I took with my miniserver at http://24ways.org/2007/performance-on-a-shoe-string

I'm very happy with EZPZ after a few months on a reseller account. As you say pre sales support was very fast, I am always a bit cynical that after sales won't be but all the times I have bothered them (usually very late at night), they have been back to me very fast - with a resolution rather than some clarification or excuse. My sites seem to load faster than when I was on mediatemple too, don't know if this is the latency or what ?
Big thumbs up from me for EZPZ so far.
