These effects shouldn&#039;t be used just for the hell of it and I think the problem can lie with clients (or clients superiors) just wanting something that makes them go &quot;wow&quot;. 

Yes a great Flash animation or Javascript effect can look great...but not the second, third, fourth time etc... 

Like you said Matt, subtle is the key and choosing to implement them in appropriate sites. For example, a slide effect could be great for a car dealer website, but it wouldn&#039;t work (or be needed) on a health website.</description>
