The Development Studio is an eLearning and Web Production company owned and run by an old friend of mine, who commissioned me to design and build a site for one of his clients: TP Hire – a company hiring out TeePees in the south of England.
The overall look and feel of the site was based around their printed material which features a cartoon illustration of a Native American tribal Chief. I kept the design quite clean but added texture and colour to match their branding and added some cartoon style elements to tie in with the Chief.
I created XHTML/CSS templates for all the pages which were then converted into Wordpress templates. Wordpress is pretty good as a CMS for small sites and it was very straight forward to build the site on this platform. A variety of plugins helped out and good use was made of custom meta-data.
The client loves the design and it’s just gone live so hopefully this will get them some new business!
